The Heritage Auto Destro is the last of its breed. WW2 military inspired watches were what moVas watches started with in 2008 and the heritage range is where this genre of watches will end. It is therefore fitting that a vintage inspired range with off-white lume markers and hands be used to close this chapter of the brand.
The details of the watches are subtle. We did not want to make a faux vintage watch with a manual wind movement and plexiglass but still wanted it to exhibit the charm of watches produced during WW2. A warm polished bezel with a muted shine between layers of circular brushed sides and top is used. The lightly faceted lugs have internal polished and smoothed lug edges to give it a softer yet sophisticated feel. The case is predominantly light brushed to continue with the softened look of the watch. The gold plated hands are lightly rounded in profile instead of being flat. The dial colour is a dusty black/ matt grey to capture the softer hue of a well worn watch. 2 Raw cut folded edge straps and beige threads are included which were the prefered strap construction method of the time. The edges will age and darken to provide more contrast to the watch.
Sandwich dial construction together with an explorer 12/0,3,6,9 layout are used as that was the signature of moVas watches when it started. A destro configuration which were originally designed for left handed wearers is implemented to create an easier to wear watch for smaller wrists as the crown will not dig into the back of the hand as well as to keep with the heritage military vibe. Instead of our use of C3 Superluminova like most of our other watches, a proprietary vintage coloured lume was developed to fit into the vintage theme and replicate old radium lume. To top it off, a 4.75mm tall triple domed sapphire glass is used instead of a raised plexiglass to provide more scratch resistance.
The Heritage Auto Destro is our attempt at creating a modern watch with the styling cues of watches of the WW2 era.
Case: 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel polished. Case is 45mm across excluding crown guards, 49mm with crown guard. 51mm lug hole- lug hole. 13mm height to top of bezel/ 14mm height including domed sapphire.
Caseback: Exhibition thick caseback in 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel with brushed surface and sapphire glass. Laser etched and numbered 01-50. 12 sided hex fully CNCed.
Glass: Sapphires 4.75mm tall, 3mm thick raised double dome colourless, scratch resistant tropic sapphire with single anti reflective coating applied internally.
Movement: Produced by Tianjin Seagull Watch Co. Ltd. Caliber 2100. 26 Jewels, beating at 28800bph, 45H Power Reserve, featuring customised date disc at 6H, Customised rotor in black PVD and signed. Main plates perlaged. Antishock protection system on balance wheel. Hackable.
Dial: Matt Black, with vintage lume sandwich dial construction and beige printing.
Hands: Rounded Brass polished yellow gold plated main hands with vintage lume.
Strap: 1) Light Tan raw edge single folded oiled leather strap with beige stitching 2) Dark Brown raw edge single folded oiled leather strap with beige stitching.
Buckle: 2x Flush Type #02 brushed stainless steel buckles
Crown: 10mm XL ratchet shaped crown with “V” logo deep etched with o-rings
